15 Really Cool Flash Websites for Inspiration
I have put together this small list of Flash Websites I have found over the last few months. Some of them have been around for awhile and some of them are fairly new. These are some of the sites I look to for inspiration and have decided to share them with you. Enjoy.
Dontclick.it
This site is one of the more innovative sites I’ve come across. Its exploits our inability to NOT click things on the screen but shows us possibly a look into the future of Flash Development. I’ve spent an hour or two playing around with the site and I must say, it is one of my favorites!
Barcinski & Jean Jean
These guys are Flash gurus! This is undoubtedly my second favorite site. They have made two versions of the site and one of them require wearing 3D glasses! Their use of Papervision and photography techniques to put this site together have really made this site an awesome interactive environment. Kudos to these gentlemen.
Good Things Should Never End – Orange’s Unlimited Web Page
Hope you have time to spare, this site really does go on for ever! This site is very clever and well thought out. It is quite an adventure once you get into it. Its very interactive and will keep you entertained for quite a while.
The World is My Canavas
I love this site for the simple fact that Stavros is quite the card and also the fact that they use video interaction. A few years ago while attending school for web design, I envisioned that websites would be going in this direction of using video to get a message across. The first example was the Caveman Cribs website (you know, those crazy cavemen from the Geico commercials), they had a website site up the captured my imagination and had brought it to life! I was amazed when I had found it and I am even more amazed that it isn’t up anymore. That site was the coolest site ever! Oh well, at least we still have Stavros……
Ian Wharton
I am a fan of Ian Wharton. His 3D characters are amazing as well as his portfolio site. His use of video and motion graphics are very resilient and well executed. I hope you become a fan too!
2Advanced Studios
What can I say about 2Advanced that hasn’t been said already, these guys are Flash Gods! They have been around for years and I always check in with them to see what new stuff they have done. They have an extensive track record of ground-breaking projects that are sure to impress you. 2Advanced Rocks!
Hello Sour Sally
This is a cute little site I have come across the other day. Its very artistic and interactive. Their transitions between scenes are really cool and the site as a whole is really fun! My daughter and I played around with the site for an hour or so and had a blast! Check it out!
Marc Ecko
This is a very well put together site using flash and video. There’s quite a bit of information on this site including his video of tagging Air Force One and his bio. This guy is a marketing genius if you ask me. Very cool site.
Nuova Design Lab
Nuova Design Lab used 3D animation and Flash on this site and has put together a very clean and interesting site. Check out the 3D transition when you click “Contact” and then close the contact window. Very cool.
Andy Foulds
Andy Foulds is a programming genius! I’ve been following him since 2005 when I first started getting into Flash. I’ve never met him but I have talked with him through emails and he is very humble and down to earth and has no problem sharing programming secrets. His home page offers up examples of the kind of crazy things he’s capable of.
The Medium
I just found this site the other day and what caught my eye was their transitions between pages. Their use of some parallax effects and animation has definitely made me a fan.
Glass and a Half Full Productions
If you are a fan of 3D animation, then this site is for you! I found myself on this site exploring every single page until there wasn’t anything else to see! It is very interactive and offers hours of entertainment……be aware!
Chromazone
These guys have made great use of the parallax effect which I love. Its well thought out and and very interesting to interact with.
Magic Socket
The coolest part of this site is the slot cars! This is a cool use of Flash interaction and it sucks you right in as soon as you see it. The only draw back is that it takes you away from their actual portfolio. Very cool though.
Project 77
This is the portfolio of Wim Tellier. This site is very extensive and shows his innovative photography masterpieces. I am a fan of this site and I still spend time on it when I can looking at all the photos.
If you know of any sites that aren’t posted on here, please feel free to drop me a line and let me know. Hope you enjoyed the list!
